The process of making quality products for customers in the cereal, baking, soft drink, and candy industries is highly rewarding – but it is also complicated. Our career track programs and dynamic work environment provide on-the-job training and expose employees to a variety of career opportunities. Our program curriculums are referred to as a master’s degree in sugar processing. Process Technicians
Completing this program can propel employees from a general labor PT VI position up to a PT I position overseeing a large portion of factory operations.
Boiler Technicians
Successful graduates of this program can advance from a general labor BT 6 position up to a BT 1 position overseeing factory power generation operations.
Packaging Techs
Employees completing this program can be promoted from a general labor PKGT IV position up to a PKGT I position overseeing a large portion of sugar product packaging operations.
American Crystal Sugar Company offers college students pursuing an engineering degree the opportunity to put their learning to use. Our Engineering Advancement Program provides hands-on engineering experience as a co-op or intern. Successful completion typically leads to a full-time engineering position upon graduation.

American Crystal has partner programs with Bismarck State College, Minnesota North College—Mesabi Range, and North Dakota State College of Science. Full scholarships are available for seven different degrees and cover all expenses—books, tuition, tools, and room and board. Program graduates join our factory workforce in critical roles with ongoing career advancement opportunities.
Vocational Scholarship Program
American Crystal Sugar Company believes in the value of a great education. That’s why we offer a tuition reimbursement program designed to help employees offset the cost of college courses. Those who qualify are eligible for 75 percent reimbursement of tuition and books.
