Beet Harvester Settings Tool

Easily Adapt to the Challenges of Sugarbeet Harvest.

This application will help adjust your harvester to different soil conditions and problems you're facing in the fields.

To begin select one of the following field conditions from below.

Please select one of the following observations made on harvester performance.

List Of Possible Solutions:

Speed:

Increase lifter ground speed up (4 to 6 mph)

Depth:

Dig deeper (3" to 4" making small incremental adjustments)

Lifter Wheels:

Broken or bent wheel
Pinch point adjusted too wide go narrower (1.75" starting point)
Add lifter wheel close-ups

Paddle Shaft:

Adjust paddle shaft down
Move paddles out toward the wheels

Apron Chain:

Adjust apron chain to the lifter wheel should be about 1.5" to 3"
Adjust apron chain to grabroll distance (.5" between scroll & highest link)
Chain to loose

Grab Bed Rear Delivery:

Speed up grabrolls
Lower smooth grabrolls
Close the grabrolls (narrower on the pinching side) ( starting point - 1.5" from tube to tube)
Check spring tension on grabroll mounts

Grab Bed Side Delivery:

Speed up grabrolls
Raise the front of the grabroll bed
Close the grabrolls (narrower on the pinching side) ( starting point - 1.5" from tube to tube)
Check spring tension on grabroll mounts

Scrub Elevator:

Check distance between the scrub chain and the grabrolls
Fill gaps between teardrops or bearing carriers
Look for bent links in the scrub chain
Scrub % is too high, reduce the % or go to no scrub
Check boggie wheels and increase spring tensions

Wheel Elevator:

Check wheels for damaged rods or bent guides & shields
Add rubber flaps to your wheel
Check shu tension and clearance

Tank & Boom:

Gaps along the elevator to the truck (walking chains, damaged boggie wheels, or missing pieces of shielding)

NOTE: Some adjustments may not be possible on some harvesters. Do not attempt to re-fabricate without consulting the manufacturer.

Make sure the tractor is shut off before entering the harvester or working under the shields.

All shields must be in place during operation.

Row Finder:

Check row finder (clear of leaf or mud buildup / centered & working properly)

Lifter Wheels:

Pinch point adjusted too tight go wider (1.75" starting point)
Pinch point adjusted too wide go narrower (1.75" starting point)
Remove lifter wheel close-ups

Paddle Shaft:

Adjust paddle shaft up
Adjust paddle shaft down
Move paddles out toward the wheels

Grab Bed Rear Delivery:

Speed up grabrolls
Raise the front of the grabroll bed
Lower smooth grabrolls
Close the grabrolls (narrower on the pinching side) ( starting point - 1.5" from tube to tube)
Check spring tension on grabroll mounts

Raise smooth grabrolls
Close the grabrolls (narrower on the pinching side) ( starting point - 1.5" from tube to tube)
Check spring tension on grabroll mounts

Scrub Elevator:

Scrub % is too high, reduce the % or go to no scrub
Check boggie wheels and increase spring tensions
Outside scrub chain too tight

Slow down grabrolls - (to test slow the PTOs by throttling tractor RPM's down)
Lower the front of the grabroll bed
Raise smooth grabrolls
Open the grabrolls (wider on the pinching side) (starting point - 1.5" from tube to tube)

Scrub Elevator:

Scrub % is too low, increase the % (15% max)

Wheel Elevator:

Remove rubber flaps from your wheel
Use wheeler cleaner

Tank & Boom:

Check spring tension on grabroll mounts

Scrub Elevator:

Check distance between the scrub chain and the grabrolls
Fill gaps between teardrops or bearing carriers
Look for bent links in the scrub chain
Scrub % is too high, reduce the % or go to no scrub
Check boggie wheels and increase spring tensions

Wheel Elevator:

Check wheels for damaged rods or bent guides & shields
Add rubber flaps to your wheel
Check shu tension and clearance

Tank & Boom:
