American Crystal Sugar Company markets its Agri-products through its ownership in Midwest Agri-Commodities.
American Crystal’s sugar production process results in a variety of agri-products including Beet Pulp Pellets, Sugarbeet Pulp Shreds, Beet Molasses and Raffinate, which is desugared beet molasses. These agri-products are marketed through Midwest Agri-Commodities Company, based in San Rafael, California, and are sold primarily for use in pet food manufacturing, as an enhancer in milk production, bakers yeast manufacturing and a host of other feed related applications.
Midwest Agri-Commodities is owned by American Crystal and three other agri-product producing owners. Midwest Agri-Commodities is a leading marketer of sugar agri-products around the globe. In fact, they market over one million tons of these agri-products each year in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

Beet Pulp Pellets
Beet Pulp Pellets are the fibrous portions of the sugar beet left after the sugars are removed. It is mechanically pressed, dried to reduce the moisture content to approximately 9% and then pelletized into a 5/16-inch pellet. The fiber in Beet Pulp Pellets is highly digestible which makes it a good non-starch energy source.
Sugar Beet Pulp Shreds
Sugar Beet Pulp Shreds is an agri-product of the sugar beet industry, and offer a valuable feed resource for all types of livestock. Sugar beet pulp shreds are the fibrous portion of the sugar beet left after the sugars are removed, and is mechanically pressed and dried to reduce the water content to approximately 9%. Sugar beet pulp fiber is highly digestible, extremely palatable feed in a form that is considered less dusty than hay. This product is available in 40 lb. bags and comes in plain and molasses-added forms.
Beet Molasses is an agri-product of the sugar beet industry, and offers a valuable feed resource to the cattle industry and fermentation industry. Beet Molasses is the residual liquid left over from the sugar extraction process, providing an excellent source of energy for livestock.
Raffinate (Desugared Beet Molasses)
Raffinate is the residual liquid resulting from the desugaring of beet molasses, and provides an excellent source of energy and protein for livestock.
